BIOGRAPHY
Lyan Cahuac Hun, hailing from Bogotá, Colombia, is an eclectic artist whose talents span across being a pianist, composer, singer, producer, and an adept video production producer.
From a young age, Lyan was drawn to the arts, displaying a keen interest in singing, guitar, painting, and other forms of creative expression. This early passion was self-directed until, at 13, he began formal training in guitar and vocals. His artistic journey continued at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá, where he pursued Fine Arts. His quest for musical mastery led him to study composition and classical piano at El Bosque University's Music Faculty, under the mentorship of the esteemed Russian pianist Sergei Sichkov.
At 21, Lyan's musical exploration took him to the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, Spain, where he immersed himself in modern music and jazz, excelling as both a pianist and vocalist. Since 2002, Lyan has been a dynamic presence on the European music scene, performing solo and with bands in a variety of genres across Spain, France, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden.
Now based in Stockholm, Lyan's recent endeavours include producing and composing for his projects CAHUAC, which blends Latin-American narratives with jazz, and The Lady Of The Tribes, an experimental pop-rock venture. He also contributes to Son Parceros and The Sabaneros, groups that celebrate tropical Afro-Colombian folklore and Colombian cumbia, respectively. Lyan’s work with The Sabaneros culminated in a record deal with the Swedish record label Prisma in 2024.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Lyan has cultivated a parallel career in video production. His research in this field encompasses directing, editing, and producing music videos and concert visuals that complement his artistic vision. His work in video production has not only enhanced his live performances but also allowed him to collaborate with other artists, bringing a cinematic quality to his musical storytelling.
